Wyndham Carols by Candelight is an annual festive Christmas concert held within the Wyndham area. It attracts thousands of people each year to celebrate the Christmas period.
The Wyndham Minister's Network is a non-denominational Christian organisation that works together with representatives of 17 different churches across Wyndham to present the Good News of Jesus Christ to our local community. The network is responsible for organising the annual Good Friday Combined Churches service, along with the annual Wyndham Carols by Candlelight event.
Yes you will need a ticket to attend the Wyndham Carols by Candlelight, ticket prices will be listed above and you can purchase both online and at the gate on the night.
To purchase a concession or companion card, the ticket must be for someone who holds one of the following cards: Pensioner Concession Card (PCC); Health Care Card (HCC); Victorian Seniors Card; Victorian Carer Card ("We Care" Card); Student Concession Card; or Companion Card. While we support Companion Cards as a type of concession for discounted tickets, we are not a Companion Card affiliate and do not offer free tickets for Companion Card holders.
There will be ample car parking available for the event. While the grounds can be accessed via Public Transport (Bus 439) we do not recommend relying on it, as the route stops entering the ground of Werribee Park approximately around 4:30pm, with the last bus leaving from the entrance at K Road approximately around 7:30pm, two hours before the conclusion of the event.
Yes the Werribee Park grounds include free parking. With the size of the event we use a large field next to the event location, as is customary for large scale events at Werribee Park. Please wear appropriate footwear as both the event and the parking are across lawns and fields. We will be ensuring the event will have efficient and clear parking and traffic management for both arriving and departing to make it as stress-free an experience as possible.
Gates open at 5:00pm. There is a range of family-friendly activities available, as well as food trucks where you can purchase food, with a pre-show running from 7pm on the stage. From 8pm the main event starts, featuring items, carols, the Nativity Story, and more until the conclusion of the evening at 9:30pm.
Wyndham Carols will run rain or shine. We encourage attendees to watch the forecast and bring appropriate clothing and footwear given the outdoor nature of the event. We allow umbrellas but ask they be collapsed during performances so as not to obstruct the view of other patrons. The event will only be cancelled due to inclement weather if it is so severe as to make it unsafe to proceed, and we have assessment policies in place to make that determination. This is the same policy operated by Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, as a similar outdoor event during the December period. Cancellations due to inclement weather will be communicated through our social media channels and through emails sent to ticket holders. The event may be rescheduled for another day due to weather.
Yes there will be food trucks on site where you can purchase food from 5:00pm.
No, there will not be an ATM available within the carols grounds.
We suggest you bring a picnic blanket or small camping chair, comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, and an umbrella. Additionally while rubbish bins will be provided, you may consider bringing a rubbish bag if you plan on bringing lots of snacks or drinks as it will help us on the night.
Yes, there will be Auslan interpretation for those who may be hearing-impaired at the event. If you require help on the night to confirm where the interpreters are placed please visit our information tents.
Please don't bring any large Eskies or coolers, illicit substances, lazers or portable Bluetooth speakers. While we encourage you to bring a camera, there's strictly no use of drones at the event.
As the carols event is held within the Werribee Park grounds, dogs are not permitted (except for assistance dogs) as set by Parks Victoria.
The Wyndham Carols is put on by the community, for the community, and so we invite anyone to express their interest in getting involved in helping make Wyndham Carols happen. Visit our Contact section below to express your interest in getting involved.
